LAUNCH OF SPLITWOOD WITH A NEW FOOD MENU | BIG PITCHER

Located on one of the busy streets of Bangalore, Big Pitcher is right next to Leela Palace. This place accommodates 6 floors in structure, each floor made out for a different setting. While one is dedicated for buffet lunches, another one accommodates a dance floor, with the last floor, a terrace dedicated for a romantic setting (atleast thats what i am told).  Big Pitcher launched their new revamped floor SPLITWOOD along with a new menu. This floor has a total cow boy theme, and they cater to both ala carte and buffet menu. We bloggers were invited to taste the new menu and provide them with feedback.

The event itself was absolutely superb, the attention to detail, as someone who is no stranger to attending events i’d have to give the team ten out of ten. Attendees were warmly greeted on arrival, and  we were taken to the new cocktail bar upstairs.  The crowd mingled and chatted as the staff treated us to some delicious finger food and of course plenty of lovely cocktails/mocktails. The crowd was full of the usual suspects, exchanging pleasantries and playing along with the banter.

Mocktails & Cocktails:

I love a good cocktail and thankfully Big Pitcher now has a number of outstanding mixologists serving a wide range of good concoctions. We were constantly pampered with a cornucopia of mocktails and cocktails. The drinks just kept pouring in and never failed to surprise us.

Some of the hits among the mock tails were  Fruit Punch, Good Omen and another drink (cant remember the name) based out of mango.

Almost all the cocktails served were great.

The guys seemed to be enjoying there Sarava and Kingslayer ale. They have introduced a new wool ale beer with a woody smokiness which is another option for all the beer lovers.

Starters:

  1. Prawns till Yawn: Clearly the dish of the day! Prawns wrapped in crispy noodles was crunchy, properly cook and paired well with the sauce.

2. Fish in Splitwood waters: This was a total set back after an amazing prawns experience. The fish was tool salty for anyone palate. On request they replaced this dish with another fresh one, but it was again a tad bit salty.

3.  Santas chimney: The chicken was succulent and perfectly cooked. The only problem i felt is, the chicken turns rubber’ish ones it goes cold. So one has to eat this dish while it is still hot.

4. First bite Chomps: Chicken Cutlet served on sticks. A very crispy dish.

5. Viva Indiano: A paneer based veg starter. The paneer was marinated and deep fried with italian herbs, perfectly teamed up with the italian based mayo sauce.

6.  Kanchin Baby corn: This was the second best starter of the day. Tangy juicy well cooked baby corn.

7. Yasai Tempura Moriawase: Fresh beans, Capsicum, Carrot, Onions, Zuccini are lightly dipped in batter and deep fried. I am a fanatic of vegetables weather it is boiled or fried, so i was looking forward to this dish, darn wasnt i disappointed. The entire veggies were saltless 😦

Main Course:

This was followed by the main course which constituted of a mixture of fried rice and noodles (both veg and non-veg) and a couple of schezuan gravy (again veg and non veg).

Dessert:

Hot Brownie Fudge: I love chocolate and sweets, but i cannot eat a lot of them (exceptions for Rasagulla & Mysore Park 😉 ). This portion of brownie was magnanimous for me. Luckily i had 2 souls to share it with.
